Here is a list of some of my creative projects and goals that are on my mind right now. They're roughly arranged by deadlines and priority.
- Scrapbook "card" for JM's scrapbook: A co-worker whom I don't know well is retiring and her department is arranging a scrapbook for her. I think I'm just going to decorate my small piece of cardstock decoratively, since I don't have a lot to say.
- Father's Day cards: Three to make and one must be mailed. I have to say, masculine cards are more difficult for me, since my go-to cardmaking almost always includes flowers.
- Edit remainder of 2015 Disney pictures & order prints from Persnickety: I bought 200 print credits from Persnickety and really need to do this soon -- in June, for sure.
- Scrapbook the rest of the 2015 stories before going back to Disney in August: I've made two or three layouts from last year's Disney trip so far and have photos on hand for one more. I definitely want to "finish" last year's memory-keeping before we go back.
- Slot pictures into Project Life album: I recently got some PL photos printed up and am in the process of putting them in the 2016 album.
- Write all journaling for PL pages: I've really slacked on PL so far this year. I've taken pictures and saved memorabilia, but if I want to include words, I've got to get on it.
- Add embellishments to PL pages: This is the fun part. Sometimes I do some embellishing while I'm doing the journaling, but also sometimes wait until all that is done.
- Anniversary card for Mom & Dad: Don't leave it for the last minute.
- Tim Holtz June 2016 tag: I never got around to May and I do like playing along.
- Keep making Christmas cards: I've made some cards and want to make more. The goal is to have them all made well before the holiday season this year. I like to send them, but don't like the extra "work" all at one time of year.
- Unzip, organize, and back up digital stuff, especially from AE, CZ, and collections from Cosmo Cricket, etc.: All the digital stuff I've bought over the years is either on the aging hard drive of my laptop, or the aging external drive hooked up to it. I'd like to back up the zip files to Google Drive or something in case of hard drive failure.
- Back up our videos from the video camera: This is a very long overdue project and will take a lot of time, but we've got to do it so the videos aren't stranded on those little tapes with nothing that can play them.
- Find pictures from 2006 trip to North Carolina and make a layout or two. I don't have a ton of layouts from Gabi's early toddler years, probably because we were super busy and also didn't have as good a camera.: I wasn't scrapbooking back then and I'm pretty sure I didn't scrapbook this trip at all.
- Put together some page kits to scrapbook things I already have pictures for: Christmas in NC 2014, the storm.: Some of these things I either have to scrap or just put the photos in a photo album.
- Edit some pictures from Christmas 2015 to make a page + pocketed page protector. December Daily doesn't capture everything.: Can't remember if I did the photos yet, must check.
- I have time "set aside" for reading each night. I try to also find a little time to be creative. But I'm not writing at all. I need a time slot just to jot down a few things for PL or to do some private journaling or some creative writing.: I was inspired by a co-worker's mention of The Artist's Way to try to figure out how to fit more creative activity in. I've signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo, but am not sure how fulfilling or motivating I will find this.
- Use planner as a place to capture stuff for when I update PL in the future. For example, go through text messages & photos and just write stuff on the planner.: I think one of the reasons my PL album for this year has no journaling is because I don't have a good system for recording things. There's a lot in our text messages, but scrolling back to January text messages is enough to drive me insane. I've got to make notes more often. Daily would be best, but I'm terrible at daily habits. I'm hoping to at least do it weekly. PL is less fun when there's a long backlog of things to fill in.
