I'm a bit bleary-eyed this morning, as I transition from my week off (and lovely longer sleeps) back to the work schedule. Plus, this is kidlet's first day of third grade! She was awake and dressed before the alarm clock. This likely won't last past today. ha, ha
In fact, I'm so not with it that I just hit "publish" without linking up to Julia's blog and the WOYWW party! Yikes.
So, I purposely didn't pick up my desk last night, which is my habit. Look -- mess!
A card in progress -- I misted through the cardboard remnants of the Hello letters. I might reinforce them with pen . . . haven't decided.
Decided to make color sample tags for my distress inks and opted to do it on a piece of cardstock because I thought it might make an interesting background for something. I saw someone else's desk that had the little foamies labeled and thought it was a great idea. Poor Frayed Burlap is the only one that has a makeup sponge -- ran out of foamies.
Stamped, smushed hard, and softly swiped -- wanted to show the color variations:
And a beauty shot of what came in the mail yesterday -- yay!
It's hard to see the "hello". I would outline it or something. But love that background. i like the idea of stamping/smushing, etc..all the distress inks so you can see the colors on paper. Brigita #53

A good background for something! That is the first thing I thought when I saw your ink sample paper :)
Love the natural light coming in your windows there. Pefect!

Brigita, I agree completely -- once I looked at the picture of the card on the monitor, I realized that I'd definitely have to outline the letters!

What a love work area with a window out to the world, Laura!! I should label my DI foams, too; maybe then I would actually start using them more. Sigh.
Have a great week adjusting to the new schedule! Darnell #93

Like your colour swatches. I did mine on the A4 sheet you can get off the Ranger site. I half and half swiped and foamed the colour on, but now I want to stamp it on top too. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to your tag journal/book/album. BJ#63

Love the goodies that showed up this week. Your scrap paper of random colors is very cool looking. You couldn't have made such a perfect piece if you tried. I like your little workspace by the window. It's so nice. Thanks for the visit earlier! I'm slowly making the rounds.

I just bought my first distress inks yesterday. Yes, its true, gasp! LOL Jury is still out as to weather I like them. I played a little yesterday and its OK-ish, maybe it will get better with time.
Love all those colours you have.
Happy belated WOYWW!

Oh wow! I love your desk... if I could leave all my craft supplies out mid-project I'd get so much more done. I have a 3-year-old and she loves to do what I do... I fear there'd be Mod Podge all over the carpet!
