I like mixed media, to a degree. I'm not much into mess. ha, ha I like looking at the work of folks like Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, but haven't really gotten into art journaling, as at this point I really don't have much in the way of skill. But I'm going to play more in 2013. I fell in love with this great notebook that Lori Vliegen has used to great effect on her blog this year and my Mom bought it for me for Christmas. I think it's a sign. I don't think this will hold up to much more than pen, pencil, ink, markers, so I've decided to use it to record quotes I like and will illustrate/decorate as the mood strikes me.
Here's my very first page (and I noticed I was writing too fast and left a couple of letters out of the word possibilities. When my gesso arrives, I'll white it out and fix it.)
What I used: Pigma Brush pen, Sharpie water-based white paint pen, distress inks, Tim Holtz stamp, archival ink, Crafter's Workshop stencil
What I learned: distress inks work well on this paper
