Today's pages have Aspen Frost paper as the background (Basic Grey), paper tape (unknown), gifts punched with a Martha Stewart punch out of Cosmo Cricket paper, an Ali Edwards (Designer Digitals) journaling card, a tag from a gift last year, and a MME brad.
I have a 12x12 folder labeled Christmas that I keep bits and pieces in -- believe me, that's the only way I was able to lay hands on that tag! :)
Today's spread uses American Crafts paper (from the "I Do" line a few years ago), a Papertrey Ink star stamp, Ali Edwards journaling card, two different paper tapes from a year or two ago, and a lovely vintage image from the Graphics Fairy.
The story I tell here happened late in the day and I knew I had to record it, sad though it made me to do so. I think the vintage Santa image is perfect for it. My daughter is 8 and I know this was inevitable, but gee whiz, we were pretty close to getting through one last Christmas with this special tradition intact. We talked about it and decided that we'd still do things as we've done in the past, it's just that she's now in on it.
This two page spread features Aspen Frost paper, Freckled Fawn washi tape, gold glitter paper accents, and an Ali Edwards journaling card with a Tim Holtz stamp stamped in Vermilion ink. I added a couple pieces of ephemera from a Christmas card envelope.
I like having some things that don't change -- the size of the page (obviously), the same style of journaling card -- plus having the ability to get a little creative with washi and stamping. It feels like a good balance.
Today's picture will be of my daughter and I at the restaurant where we had lunch. I like the look of something stamped in red on the journaling card (which I think I'll continue), but the reindeer was a little big and took up a lot of room!
The background paper is from Basic Grey's Aspen Frost line. Since there are 36 sheets in the pad, that covers 18 of the 24 days and I'm supplementing other papers with similar colors. The punched piece was done with a Martha Stewart punch; the sequins are from my stash. The reindeer is from a Tim Holtz set and the ink is my newest archival ink (seriously want more of these). The washi is from Freckled Fawn.
I've decided to post the pages without the picture on the left hand page (which I'll get printed next Saturday, or possibly get them all printed at once after Christmas.) I know that's not as interesting -- sorry! I'm putting Post-it notes as placeholders and sticking a few punched borders and embellishments in the page protector, so once I get the prints, it won't take too long to put together.
The background paper is from the first MME Lush line, the journaling cards are by Ali Edwards (Designer Digitals), the wood veneer stars are Studio Calico, the punch is Martha Stewart, the Santa stamp is Tim Holtz/Stamper's Anonymous, stamped with Vermilion archival ink, and the washi tape was purchased from Freckled Fawn.
This is the cover to my December Daily album. I painted it with Martha Stewart acrylic paint, added ribbon, AC Thickers, and die cuts from gold glitter paper. I put Glossy Accents on the Thickers and when it pooled in the center of the zero, I decided to leave it. :)
My "sharing" of my December Daily album will be sporadic because I don't print photos from home, so I'll be getting prints each weekend throughout the month. But I'll try to share something each day (we'll see how that plan goes!)
