I've got a post about recent fun acquisitions ready to go except for the pictures. [Editor's note: That post is now live.] Will probably do it in two parts -- I went to Michael's last Thursday and again on Sunday.
I'm buying sheets of Heidi Grace Designs paper each time I go, before they are all sold out. HGD has been bought out by a company called Colorbok, and it's not clear whether her scrapbooking papers and embellishments will be made anymore.
The one thing I find to be a bit discouraging about this hobby is that you can see lots of lovely lines of paper online that might or might not be available to buy locally. Shipping costs can be a bit of a barrier to purchasing online unless you are buying a bunch of stuff at once. I intend to buy primarily locally and support my local store -- how bummed out would I be if it went out of business, after all. I did place an order a month or so ago from Scrapbook.com for some neat Bazzill dotted swiss cardstock that my store doesn't carry and some bulk 12 x 12 white cardstock. And I will likely place an order with Papertrey Ink at some point. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am madly in love with their stuff.
