Three Weeks Pass in the Blink of an Eye
We brought Gabrielle home on May 10th and now she is three weeks and three days old. In between she's met lots of family members and friends, gone for a stroller ride, had that scary first bath, and had two doctor's appointments. She's now up to 8 lb. 13 oz. and 22 inches long. We're trying to get her to sleep longer at night than during the day. . . She's very beautiful and lovable.
I just realized - in sending a note to a third party - that your little cutie's going to be a month old on Monday. How on earth--?
And you do realize we're going to be having this same electronic conversation in about five years, and again in about eighteen years...

Congratulations on your new baby girl, Laura. I hadn't checked your blog lately because I've been so wrapped up in my new role as in-house grandma. The baby is gorgeous and just let your life flow with her rythym. It's over and gone so quickly.

Karen -- I'm sure you're right about having these conversations for the rest of her life (Please be around to glue me back together.)
Fran, thanks for your kind message. It is somewhat difficult to just move with her rhythm when you are wishing for consecutive hours of sleep. . . but I am doing my best. :-) Soon enough I will be back at work and my husband will be her primary caregiver, so I want to soak it all in.
